1. Who We Are

Omnibus is made by Jamie Newman, an independent developer in the United Kingdom. You can reach me at contact@jamie-newman.com.

2. Data We Collect

None. Omnibus has no account, no sign-in and no server of its own. It contains no analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising identifier. I cannot see what you read, how much, or when.

3. What Omnibus Stores on Your Device

Your books, readings, sessions, highlights, notes, tags and goals, along with the settings you choose, are stored in the app's own container on your iPhone or iPad. Cover images fetched from Open Library are stored there too. Deleting the app deletes all of it.

4. iCloud Sync (Omnibus Pro)

With Omnibus Pro and the iCloud toggle on, your library is mirrored to the private database of your own iCloud account so it appears on your other devices. That data is stored by Apple under your Apple Account, is not visible to me, and is covered by Apple's iCloud terms. Turning the toggle off stops the mirroring; the data already on each device stays there.

5. Apple Watch

The books on the go are sent to your Apple Watch over the direct link between the two devices, and sessions timed on the watch come back the same way. Nothing passes through any server of mine.

6. Open Library

When you search for a book, scan a barcode, or a cover is missing, Omnibus sends the search text, the ISBN or the cover identifier to openlibrary.org, a service of the Internet Archive, and receives book details and cover images back. Open Library receives your device's IP address as part of that request, as any web request does. Nothing else about you is sent. Open Library's own privacy policy applies to its side of that request. If you add books by hand and never search, Omnibus makes no network requests at all.

7. Purchases

Omnibus Pro is a one-off purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Omnibus checks with Apple whether the purchase exists on your Apple Account; it never sees your payment details.

8. Camera

The camera is used only for the barcode scanner on the Add screen, to read the EAN-13 on the back of a book. No image is stored or sent anywhere. If you decline camera access, search and manual entry work as before.

9. Import and Export

Files you export, the backup and the CSVs, are written where you choose through the system file picker. Files you import are read once and not kept.

10. Data Sharing

I do not sell, share or transfer any personal data, because I do not have any.

11. Your Rights & Data Deletion

Your data is yours and on your devices. Delete a book, a session or a highlight in the app; delete everything by deleting the app; remove the iCloud copy from Settings on your device under iCloud, Manage Storage, Omnibus.

12. Children's Privacy

Omnibus is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.

13. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the new version will appear at this address with a new date at the top.
